The Four Pillars of Medical Ethics
Beneficence (Doing Good)
Example: You see a classmate drop their books in the hallway, so you stop to help them pick everything up.
Non-maleficence (Do No Harm)
Example: Your friend wants to copy your homework, but you say no because you know it could get both of you in trouble.
Autonomy (Respecting the Right to Choose)
Example: A friend asks for your opinion on what outfit to wear, you give advice, but you let them pick what they feel best in.
Justice (Being Fair)
Example: You’re sharing a pizza with friends, so you make sure everyone gets the same number of slices.
